Do Something Fun and Unexpected

Thanks for the video Anne. I got this off of Not Entirely British. http://networkedblogs.com/p6117785

This reminds me of having spontaneous fun. Why are we so stiff sometimes. Look at the audience that enjoyed and started clapping and the people who were stunned into watching. Which one would you rather be?

You have to make opportunities fun and fun up opportunities!

I remember watching Mama Mia the movie. It was the funnest movie I have been to in a long time. These older than me ladies dressed up, sang, danced and ran through the streets singing and gathering others as they went.

I went to the movie with a bunch of women and as we were coming out of the movie everyone was saying how fun it would be to dress up and sing some of those songs. I was feeling it too. It seemed I had grown too old to dress up and be goofy, too scared to put on an 80's outfit and sing and dance outside. But the dream was still planted. How could a respectable, 45 year old mother of 5 do such a fun, crazy thing? Then it hit me. If I did it at a retreat people might go along with me. I could have my crazy fun and allow others to do the same.

So we did. Yes it was scary. Yes it was out of my comfort zone, especially when Jodi led us from a very secluded place over to the street where people could actually see us.

Elenore Roosevelt said "Do something everyday that scares you."

Good Advice. It was exhilarating!

Be Goofy today and do sometime fun and unexpected.

Enjoy

How fun would it be to see beautiful words painted around town like this one? What a happy surprise. I'm wondering where I can paint some hidden words at my own house.

I got this off of this blog http://desertphotography.blogspot.com
The french song Le Vie En Rose--Madeleine Peyroux that plays on her blog is fun to listen to as you stroll around her site.

Trace Adkins "You're Gonna Miss This"

How many times have you said when I get this done then I'll be happy?.... when I am married, ...when we are making more money....when my kids are older, ...when I get a bigger house....when, when, when. Do you know that "when" never comes? When you get close to it, it magically changes and it is still ahead in the future? I have lived this way most of life. I was always waiting for this or that to happen. I am now trying my best to enjoy the journey, and not wait to be happy when I get to the destination.
If I am not happy and fulfilled today, with what is,...... then I won't be happy and fulfilled tomorrow. People can be happy in dire circumstances and be miserable in the best. Happiness is a state of mind. It is not determined by the things we achieve or where we are in life. We can really just choose to be happy. I heard it growing up but never believed it. But I have put it to the test and can tell you it is absolutely true.
"You're Gonna Miss This" reminds me of me. I couldn't wait to get out of school, get married and start a family. While I was wishing ahead I was actually cheating myself out of enjoying the present.

Happy Thoughts

In the book "The Artist's Way",the author suggests making a list about our very happiest memories. Start a journal called "My Best Memories Ever!". What a happy book to look through. You can keep it right next to your gratitude journal.:)

Whatever you spend your time thinking about grows!

Happiness

I asked Kyle why he was so happy and he said it is funner to be happy. I thought is was pretty profound. It is funner to be happy. It is a choice. Abraham Lincoln said "Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be".

If I can’t find joy here and now, will I find it anywhere?

Eventually your countenance will match your thoughts and actions.
